Astoria-Buoy 10

The famed Columbia River Buoy 10 salmon fishery in Astoria provides some of the best fishing for Coho and Chinook Salmon fishing on all of the West Coast. During this run the Columbia River gets close to a million Chinook Salmon and over a million Coho or Silver Salmon. The Salmon fishing season kicks off August 1st and we typically fish this area of the Columbia River till mid September and even into October. The Coho fishing can be spectacular into October. 

Here you will find Matt trolling with various baits and techniques. Fishing from a 27′ PNW Boat makes the day even better. The boat is big wide and safe. We even have suspension seats in it for the rough days. No top on this boat makes it a fishing machine. Matt also only uses the best rods, reels and baits. 

The Astoria area of the Columbia River also offers some of the best world class trophy Sturgeon fishing there is. We get keeper days here and also do catch and release. These Sturgeon are fresh from the ocean and are the hardest fighting fish in the River. The sizes range from 3′ up to 10′. Here you can truly catch a trophy fish. You will also get a fight you won’t forget. The catching is very good here as well. You can expect to land a lot of fish each day.

Fishing out of Astoria-Buoy 10 isn’t just a fishing trip. This section of the Columbia River offers some beautiful scenery. Along with the scenery Astoria has world class restaurants and a up and coming art scene. There is also shopping and some great museums. It is also just a short drive to go visit Seaside Oregon. In Seaside you will find lots of accessible beaches and lots of shopping.
